How did you get scammed: Asked for "20% upfront payment" which was $500 which i sent BTC. He said he got database on the first day of working on it, waited 2 more days and received a sample for a completely different site than the one which i paid him for, so I asked for refund, he replied with:

"i spend the cash on things for home"

At the start of our conversation he agreed to refund if he cannot do the job:

but now says this:

[19:06:54] NetworkBrokers: You're disrespecting me, even though I've always treated you well. Plus, you don't understand what a deposit is. I didn't take your money, since it wasn't your money anymore. When you deposited it, it was part of the deal, remember?

Time of scam: Sent him $500 at time 13:41:59 2025-10-05 (3 days ago)

He has stopped replying and gone offline for over a day, probably I have been blocked.

If he replies to this, I simply ask for refund and thats it. Prepared to provide all conversations and messages with him if needed

After reviewing the screenshots, it's clear from the deal terms that $500 payment was made in agreement from both parties under the condition that if the site is not breached, the deposit will be refunded.
